Weird but true!

We all have this weird side that we mostly keep to ourselves. For me, one of those is crying over posts by random people.

Maybe their dog died and someone surprised them with a new pup.

Maybe a person falters towards the end of a race and someone behind makes sure the deserving runner crosses the line first.

Maybe it’s a kind soul paying for a child’s hearing aid, and the child hearing her mother’s voice for the first time.

Maybe it’s a group of children coming together to make life a little easier for their disabled friend.

What makes me cry is not sadness, but the goodness in people. The quiet relief that there is still hope in humanity...

Why am I saying all this today?

I came across a remembrance post in today’s newspaper. It showed a young man from Kayamkulam who has been dead for 43 years.

And who posted it? Someone who simply identified as “a friend”.

That got me thinking. If someone outside your family still holds you so close to their heart after four decades, you must have been a truly remarkable human being.

So yes, I cried for that blessed soul today...
