JP Uncle - A truly inspirational life...

Sometimes it is not easy to sum up the life of a person in a few words. Especially when that person is Dr. M S Jayaprakash.

He was my uncle. My father's sister's husband to be more accurate.

Known as an eminent historian, writer, human rights activist, orator and social activist, the recognition and appreciation that he received during a lifetime was truly deserved for a man of his dedicated learning and commitment. he was undoubtedly a vast and reliable resource of historical knowledge almost unparalleled in Kerala. A true champion for the cause of Dalits and other backward communities, he remained committed to his ideals until his last breath.

i personally feel that the most remarkable aspect of his life was that JP uncle - as we all called him - was a good human being - simple, down-to-earth, kind and considerate.a vegetarian, he introduced us to some of the finest vegetarian restaurants in town. He was especially fond of helping anyone in need of academic guidance.

When I talked to him just two days before his passing away, JP uncle was thrilled to learn that I was planning to do my PG and told me to keep learning as much as I could. When the words still echo in my ears, it is hard to believe that the person who spoke the words is no more...

Rather than going into details of his life, take a look at the news and snapshots of his demise that appeared in major news portals and social networking sites today.

These clips speak a lot about the extraordinary personality that he was. May God give his family the strength to bear this untimely loss.
